No setup and no sign-up — just open the app on the Wi-Fi you want to inspect.
Connect to the Wi-Fi you want to inspect
Join the network and open LAN Viewer. Grant the local-network permission so the app can reach nearby devices — it's the only permission a scan needs.
Run a scan
Tap Scan. LAN Viewer probes the subnet and identifies each responding device using several discovery methods at once, filling in results as they arrive.
Inspect, identify and act
Open any device for full details — vendor, model, OS, MAC and hostname where available — mark it Known or Unknown, ping it to test reachability, or open it in your browser to reach a router or device admin page. A local activity log keeps track of what changes.

Is LAN Viewer free?
Yes. You can scan your network and identify devices without an account or subscription. An optional one-time Pro upgrade removes ads and unlocks extras.
How do I see who is connected to my Wi-Fi?
Open LAN Viewer on the Wi-Fi you want to check, grant the local-network permission and tap Scan. Within seconds you'll see every device that responds, each with its IP address and — where available — its name, vendor, model and MAC address.
How does LAN Viewer identify devices?
It combines several on-device discovery methods — mDNS/Bonjour, NetBIOS, LLMNR, UPnP and reverse DNS — with hostname patterns to work out each device's name, and shows vendor, model and operating system where the network reveals them, along with a recognition-confidence score.
Why does the app need a local-network permission?
Recent Android versions require explicit permission before an app can talk to other devices on your Wi-Fi. Without it, a scan can't discover or identify anything, so LAN Viewer asks for it right when you start a scan.
Does LAN Viewer send my network data anywhere?
No. Discovery and identification run on your phone, and scan results are stored locally on your device. Optional analytics and crash reporting only run if you turn them on.
Why do some devices show up as "Unknown"?
Some devices hide their name or use a randomized MAC address, which limits what any scanner can identify. LAN Viewer combines several discovery methods to name as many as it can.
Can LAN Viewer block a device from my Wi-Fi?
LAN Viewer helps you spot unfamiliar devices and can open a device's or router's web page in your browser, so you can block or manage it from the router itself. It doesn't change your router settings for you — that stays in your control.
Can I use it on any network?
Only scan networks you own or are authorized to use. LAN Viewer is a tool for inspecting your own Wi-Fi, not for probing networks without permission.
